The UK attracts shows from around the world and there will be something to suit you whatever your tastes are. Your local town will probably have a theatre where you can see dance, music and drama productions.
If you want to be a little more extravagant, London’s West End is famous for theatres, where you can see world-famous musicals like Chicago and The Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and the Mouse Trap.
There is also the Southbank in London where a number of theatres are located, including the National Theatre. These offer a massive range of plays from important productions of Shakespeare, to celebrity filled thrillers, to small art-house theatre.

Booking Tickets
If you want to go to the theatre, it is usually best to call the theatre's box office or check their website to book tickets, as theatre shows are generally very well attended and most sell out. The price of tickets varies massively depending on the theatre, location and performance.
Big West End musicals can be quite expensive, with tickets usually starting at around £30, whilst smaller plays will often be cheaper, and many can be as cheap as £5. There are lots of great ways to save money on tickets however, particularly if you are a student.
Most theatres will offer you discounts if you show them your student card.
