The Secret Royal Wedding
Remember Will and Kate's Royal wedding a few months ago? Even if you had been living under a stone, it would have been hard to miss it with the amount of attention it got in the media. However, chances are, you had no idea there was another royal wedding this weekend. On Saturday the Queen's granddaughter, Zara Philips, married English rugby star Mike Tindall in a low key ceremony in Edinburgh.

Despite the lack of attention, the bride is 13th in line to the throne and is a former horse riding world champion, whilst the groom is an internationally recognised rugby player. On top of that, the ceremony was attended by numerous members of the royal family, including the Queen, William and Kate, and Prince Harry, as well as several England rugby team mates of the groom. However, the lack of attention was just how the couple wanted it, with Zara revealing that:
"Just having all of our friends and family in one place and having a good time was the best part of it".
Such a star studded guest list did however inevitably lead to a lot of local attention, with crowds lining the streets of Edinburgh to catch a glimpse of the first Royal wedding held in Scotland for twenty years.
The Ceremony
The guests gathered on Saturday morning at the Palace of Holyroodhouse (one of the official Royal residences) before travelling the short distance to Canongate Kirk church in Edinburgh's Old Town, where the ceremony was held. The newly married couple, together with many of the guests, then returned to the Palace for the reception which went long in to the night.
The morning after, a trickle of guests were seen leaving the venue, some looking a little worse for wear than others. Indeed, the groom himself was spotted still wearing the same suit he had been wearing the night before, looking tired but clearly very happy, whilst his new wife was looking far fresher but equally happy.
As the guests started to travel back to their homes throughout Sunday, a surprising story of how Prince Harry travelled emerged. It was revealed by one of the rugby players that the Prince had flown back on an easyJet flight along with several other guests who had been at the wedding. Who says that royalty can't do budget!
