Staying In

TV

• Lambing Live: We’re not going to lie to you, this weekend’s TV is not looking brilliant. However, if watching sheep give birth LIVE is your kind of thing then this programme is perfect for you. It may sound like an odd idea for a tv show, but it is strangely compelling.

Sport

• The Grand National: The biggest horse racing event of the year takes place tomorrow. Held in Aintree, in Liverpool, the race has been running annually for over 170 years. It is the one race of the year that a lot of people bet on even if they know nothing about horse racing. There are 40 horses racing over 4 and a half miles, so the winner is very hard to predict. Why not do a sweepstake for a bit of fun.

Days Out

• London Coffee Festival, Brick Lane: With amazing and unusual coffees for sale, baristas (coffee experts) doing demonstrations, music performances and art exhibitions, the coffee festival is a brilliant way to spend the day. There is even the chance to be involved in a World Record attempt, with the organizers hoping to break the record for most espressos made in an hour.

• Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2011, NW1: The work of the four finalists of one of the biggest European photography prizes is being displayed at the moment. Set in a stunning underground hangar opposite Madame Tussaud’s, the location on its own is worth a visit, let alone when it houses some of the best photography of the last year.

Cinema

• Source Code: This sci-fi thriller tells the story of a US soldier having to re-live the final 8 minutes of someone else’s over and over again. In those 8 minutes he has to work out who blew up the train that he is travelling on. Sound confusing? Well it is, but if you want an edge of your seat thriller and don’t mind ridiculous story lines, then why not see Source Code this weekend.

Nights Out

• Ram Records at Fabric, EC1:If you like spending your weekends at nightclubs and haven’t yet been to Fabric then what have you been doing? One of the biggest and most well known clubs in London, it typifies the club scene in the Capital. Tonight, drum and bass label Ram Records are hosting, featuring Andy C and Sub Focus among many others.

When? Friday 8th, 10pm-6am
Price: £10 for studentsCircocolombia- Urban, Roundhouse Theatre:This circus group from Colombia are like nothing else you will have ever seen before. Their shows are gritty, modern, full of energy and performed by some of the world’s best acrobats. Set against the backdrop of Colombian city street life and with a live reggaeton soundtrack, ‘Urban’ is a show you won’t soon forget.
