Based in the heart of central London, the Institute of Education (IOE) is the UK's leading centre for studies in education and related disciplines.

Part of the University of London, the IOE was founded in 1902 with a mission to pursue excellence in education and the social sciences. Today, our commitment to education excellence remains and the Institute continues to be the UK's leading specialist education university.

The IOE provides an intellectually rich and culturally diverse learning community with students, staff and scholars from over 100 countries. Many of our academic staff are world-renowned researchers in their field, as reflected in the UK government's Research Assessment Exercise which placed the IOE first for education research in the country. Staff conduct research for governments, NGOs and international organisations meaning that the Institute's expertise continually influence and shape educational policy across the world.

The IOE is ranked first nationally for student satisfaction and offers outstanding academic and social facilities for those enrolled. This includes Europe's largest education studies library and newly refurbished accommodation located just three minutes away from our modern campus.

London School of Economics (LSE)

The London School of Economics and Political Science (or LSE for short) is a truly international university. A huge 68% of the university’s students are internationals and it has ties with institutions from all over the world.

As its name suggests, LSE specialises mainly in economics, political sciences and social sciences, in which it is the leading institution in the world. However, in addition to these disciplines, LSE also offers a wide range of other courses from Accounting to Sociology, which are also highly respected.

One of the biggest benefits of studying at LSE is the location. Based in the centre of London, students enjoy all the cultural and social perks that such a busy international city offers. These range from literally hundreds of restaurants and cafes, to dozens of museums and art galleries.

King's College London

King’s College London has a strong tradition of academic excellence and today remains one of the most respected universities in the UK.

King’s does not specialize in any particular area of study and offers international students a huge choice of courses. What is unusual about King’s is that it also offers a great amount of flexibility once students have chosen their course. Students are able to choose the modules that they are most interested in and have a far greater choice in what they study than in some UK universities.

University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh has an impressive history extending back to 1582 and is located in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It is ranked among the best universities in the world and notable alumni include former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

International students have the choice of over 600 undergraduate degree programmes as well as 150 postgraduate opportunities. Edinburgh is particularly highly regarded for its courses in Medicine, Law and Engineering.

Student life at Edinburgh revolves around both the university Student Union and the city in which it is based. The Student Union is one of the oldest in the world and comprises of seven floors and five bars, offering students a different night out every day of the week, whilst the city of Edinburgh has all the benefits you would expect from a capital city.

University of Northumbria at Newcastle

Northumbria is a campus university but which is located in the middle of the city of Newcastle. Millions of pounds have been spent on the campus in recent years and it now offers excellent social and sporting facilities. The city of Newcastle also offers everything you would expect from a large city.
